We all know the importance of taking good care of our delicate facial skin... but how much attention do we give the neck and chest? This area, known as the décolleté, is often neglected, and is one of the first areas of skin that shows signs of aging.
If you're concerned about your décolleté, see our in-house medical aesthetics professional Eugenia Berchenko, RN! Photofacial Rejuvenation, which uses special pulses of light that stimulate skin cells, is one of the best ways to rejuvenate this area. This powerful treatment is able to help erase damage and signs of aging, leaving skin smoother and clearer.
Caring for this fragile skin at home is important too. Keeping the décolleté hydrated with a good moisturizer is crucial-- the skin of the décolleté has fewer sebaceous glands to produce oil than facial skin, so this area is much more prone to dryness. Just as exfoliating regularly and using hydration masks are beneficial to keep facial skin looking its best, same goes for the skin of the décolleté. Finally, be sure to use a broad spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 (and reapply throughout the day!), as exposure to the sun will accelerate signs of skin aging.
